If your team didn’t make the Super Bowl, you can still partake of the festivities by pigging out on game day menus. Forget that your team lost by drowning your sorrows in a plate of nachos or discounted drink specials. If you’re not staying home, consider some of these football haunts to score a good time.
Slate (54 W 21st St) Slate is hosting a Super Bowl party beginning at 5 p.m. with tickets starting at $5. The game will be showcased on their twenty foot HD screen as well as the hundred televisions lining the bars both upstairs and downstairs. There will also be several table package options to choose from along with $5 Bud Lights and $6 shot deals. If you want to splurge with a group of friends for bottle service, Tickets start at $350. Slate delivers sleek decor in 16,000 square feet over two floors, group entertainment games such as pool, ping-pong, and foosball plus state-of-the-art audiovisual capabilities. Visit during the week from 4-8 p.m. for discounted drink specials at the bar. The Grand Nacho platter starts at $10 and Sliders $14.
Clinton Hall (5 locations) All five locations of Clinton Hall are a craft beer lovers paradise coupled with juicy burgers and decadent desserts. If the game isn’t interesting, grab giant Jenga or Connect Four games for guaranteed fun. For Super Bowl Sunday $30 buckets of beer will be served up as well as a big $25 bowl of wings. It still amazes me that beer halls with this much space can exist in Manhattan. It’s a great pick to bring the whole family, get loud, have awesome food and still watch the game. They are famous for their Doughnut Grilled Cheese served with Tomato Soup for $17. The glazed doughnut is served piping hot with oozing mozzarella cheese perfect for a chilly winter day. Also consider an order for the table of the WTF Waffles ($25). This treat includes three waffles dripping with toppings like Oreos, M&M’s and raspberry sauce topped off with a slice of cake of your choosing. You’ll wind up with enough energy to play football!
Treadwell (3 locations) If you’re going out with a large group looking for unique food specials, look no further than Treadwell. On Super Bowl Sunday the menu includes Hot Diggity Dogs, one dozen six inch all beef hot dogs with varying toppings ($50) and Sliders by the Dozen ($36). Take advantage of Team Pride Jello Shots (6 for $25) and the Treadwell Beer Deal with your choice of ten pilsner, IPA or cider cans in a complimentary TWP cooler ($55). They offer more than a dozen beers on tap that rotate and a large menu including all your favorite pub foods plus healthy salads. Treadwell feels like a ski lodge complete with fireplace TVs and winter themed hot drinks like Spiked Hot Chocolate and Bourbon Hot Cider.
