I can feel the change a comin’. I’m ready to put the boots away and break out the sandals. Other than great weather, nothing makes me happier than saving money when I go out. If you’re cruising around this weekend, take advantage of these Spring deals.
Brazen Fox (106 Third Avenue) Happy hour runs from 4 p.m.-8 p.m. daily with $2 off draft beers and wine plus $5 bar snacks. Craft beer fans love the twenty four rotating taps starting at $7. Beer cans are a steal at $5. Brazen Fox is a great choice for March Madness and all sporting events. They always have $1 oysters, yummy ribs and house made mac n’ cheese. The second floor is perfect for a small private party. If you like cocktails ask the bartender for the specialty libation of the day. Brunch includes a complimentary mimosa or Bloody Mary and starts at $12.
Finnerty’s (221 Second Avenue) This sports bar haven is worth a visit from 1 p.m.-8 p.m. Monday through Friday to enjoy $1 off well drinks and $2 off craft beers. They don’t have a kitchen so bring in your own pizzas and feast on their twenty eight draft beer selections. If you’re meeting friends, definitely take advantage of their keg service. They offer keg packages, with ten days advance, that can accommodate six to seventy people ($250-$600). They are a San Francisco sports fans neighborhood drinking hole. If you want a seat on any game day, get there early.
The Wayland (700 East Ninth Street) Monday through Friday from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. Wayland offers $1 oysters, $4 beer, $5 oyster shooters and $7 cocktails. Their obsession with cocktails is impressive. It’s the type of menu where every cocktail has at least seven ingredients making each sip slightly intriguing. I like the “smoked and roasted” with chipotle infused agave and mezcal ($12). The menu is reasonably priced with most items under $10. Check the website for their free live music schedule.
